I have a pair of sajica that I have had since early December. They have had two failed spawns since then where they ate the eggs. After the last failed attempt the male started pounding on the female so I've divided them she is mending beautifully and eating like a pig, my question is how long would you leave them divided before trying to re-introduce them to one another?

I leave my pairs seperated until they are healed. They tend to want to get back to "business" much more quickly. Lol

They may actually spawn thru eggcrate when ready, or you can cut a hole in the eggcrate for only the female to fit thru, if there is enough of a size difference. I always place a desirable spawning surface object on the female side.

He's a little bit bigger but not at the point he couldn't follow her through, she has healed nicely and I removed a small Texas cichlid that I think had a great hand in picking on her. I'm gonna clean and rescape tonight and then remove the divider but keep it close by
