accross the tracks...
I have recently heard somewhere that if you have a proven pair of fish that has been together for a long time then you take one away or say one dies, that the other fish often times will die off.Is this true??Your advice is really appreciated!!!!

That isn't true. I've lost both males and females and the survivor does just fine. In fact they can be paired up again and again and again.

I've also separated them (different aquariums) to stop them from breeding and they started breeding again as soon as they were put back together. Separating a pair does nothing for them, they simply look for another one.

NO........The fish live on if the bond is broken by death...........
