So, after a massive die off due to a the accidental shut off of the power strip running my catfish tank I decided it would be best to take a break for a little while. Well, Im back! I sold off my biggest tank and now all i have is small ones. Planning on picking up a 125-180 gallon soon and getting some more monster cats along with some new fish I have always wanted such as a silver aro, motoros, and a few other things. Will be building my pond this spring when the ground thaws. Here is a a few fish that will be working its way back into my possesion.

RTC
RTCxTSN
TSNxMarble
Marble Cat
Silver Arowana
Florida Gar
Motoro rays
Azul Pbass
and a few others.

Good to be back. Hope to see some of those familiar faces.

Kevin

You plan on keeping those in a 125-180? It would make a fine growout for them, but then what?

How are you going to keep an outdoor pond warm enough for those fish in NY?

That is the question isnt it? Still working on that. Ill probably keep them in a 8' round stock tub in my garage until then. I still have a while I dont even have a tank yet. Still unemployed. :\

Sorry to hear about the accident, but I have to ask, how did that happen? Is there a child or animal that shut off the switch? I personally would notice right away if the filter/filters on any of my tanks weren't running. Sucks to lose fish. good luck with the pond.

My cat loves chewing on power cords and ripped it out of the wall when i wasnt home by the time i got back home the tank was freezing and the fish dead...it was tragic i was just getting the rtc's to hand feed. :(

welcome back! I love big cats too! I have recently come back from a 10 year slump. im now working on geting a 120 in good working order.. I see you said your building a pond. how big? I have a pond i built 3 years ago in my yard, its about 300+ gallons. can i keep fish in this pond? other than gold or koi obviously?

The pond will probably be a 8' in diameter stock tank used for cattle for a while until i can get the heating system worked out. Im thinking about a modified hot tub heater...its still in the planning stages.

OH about keeping fish in your pond.. I do keep koi and gold fish in my pond year round here in minnesota even in temps as low as -20 with a aerator stone and a stock tank heater. as far as any other fish go.. im not sure.
