rhode island of course
im gonna build my 140 gallon diy...plywood aqurium...but i wanted to know if anyone has ever done this before..and is it that safe to do i got the plans from garf.org...i just wnatd to see pics of any...

i built a 240 gal. plywood tank with plans similiar too garf's. I think you would save money if if you could get the glass fairly cheap. My tank is 8 feet long and 24 inches tall. The glass is about 94 inches by 22 by 3/8. I had the edges rounded so that cost a little more. With delivery it cost me almost $300 for the glass. I think i could of probably found something cheaper. The wood was about 40 bucks. Screws, liquid nails, and silicone was pretty cheap. I coated the inside with a epoxy from aquatico.com, for about 60 bucks. The gallon of epoxy was enough for my 8 foot tank. You would have to do the math for price comparison for a 140. If you need a custom size tank shape then plywood may be the way to go.

Good luck,
Shawn

If you are doing it just so you have a project and the satisfacion of building something yourself then go for it. If you are doing it to really safe money don't even start under 300 gallons

well the only reason why im thinking of it is because my uncles are glazers so i may be able to get a piece of glass really cheap....but im gonna price it first and if it adds up to be the same then ill probly just buy one..but well see

cause i live in an apartment and teh 750 wont hold...the biggest ill go is 200 gallons maybe more..

yeah go with the 750 lol how about 250?
