I just purchased a 200 gallon old oceanic aquarium yesterday and it needs new trim. after calling around, I have discovered that because the oceanic line was discontinued, I was either going to be out a couple hundred dollars for a custom trim to be built, or to possibly to make the trim myself. I have tried looking around for other DIY projects like this, but I can't find anything. if anyone could point me in the right direction, or give me some advise, I would greatly appreciate it!

Does the tank have glass braces or would your new trim need to provide support?

It has one big glass brace in the middle, here is the picture of it:

My big concern are the chips in the corner of the tank, so I would think added support would be ideal. I have not water tested this tank yet, but the chips don't look like they would leak. Just provide a big weak spot.

I have a friend who welds for a living and loves doing it, I'm going to ask him of he can make me a metal frame for the tank with vertical trim and. Few bottom support braces.

Sounds like a plan best of luck
