i just about to start a 3d background and im not sure what cement i can and cant use.

im from the uk and cant find any quikrete that everyone uses.

i have got some normal cement from fixing a wall and was wondering if that would be ok? its blue circle cement.

i know how to do it etc just want to check thats all.

also do i need to seal the cement with anything at the end?

It is perfectly fine to use, but no matter what concrete u use it will raise ur ph. it usually takes 10-12 water changes. just make sure the water levels are good before u add fish

Im thinking of using some g4 paint like used on ponds to seal it. But im now thinking just leave the filter running for a couple of weeks and do water changes every day till the ph settles.

Will the ph eventually settle or will it constantly be affected by the lime in the concrete?
