DIY 3D background?

Has anyone ever tried DIY 3D background? If so how did it turn out? How hard was it? How much did you spend? Here was a link i found of someones DIY 3D background. Trying to decide if its worth doing or just buying one already made.

that looks preety good. how'd you go about doing it? how much did it cost?

honestly it was alot cheaper than a store brought. ruffly under 50 bucks.

it made up of foam sheathing from homedepot; hydraulic cement and alot of time and patience
