Hey MFKers,

Since there are a lot of skilled and talented invdividuals on their carpentering skills, I figured I should seek some help with my own little project. I've been thinking about how to go about building a 6 sided canopy for my 55 gal. I can't seem to put together a image on how to make the 6 sides of the canopy. Attached are pictures of the tank and my drawing of the dimensions of the tank. My drawing is not to scale, and don't mind the sloppiness of it.

I want the canopy to be about 6 inches tall. So any ideas or advice would be appreciated thanks!

Nice looking tank.
Couple of thoughts,
First is making a simple , rectangular box to cover the back half of the tank. Pretty simple to build and could house your lighting.
Second is only a bit harder. The only sticking point for a full hood is the miter cuts.
Pretty sure you could work the angles needed out.
Use some scrap wood to get the angles perfect and transfer them to your finished wood choice.
If no matter what you do, you just can`t get a fit that is perfect..well..that is what wood filler is made for.
Good luck.
Show some pics of what you make.
