I've been running aquariums for many years, but am new to having larger tanks so I apologize for asking what is probably a newbie question. I was recently given a 75 gal homemade tank that needs resealing (I've done this before on a smaller tank with no problem) and was very excited to get it at first. Then I realized it doesn't have a center support.

I've seen lots of people online saying that it's not a problem and lots saying it is. The tank is 48"x18"x20" and made with 3/8" glass. The bottom glass of the tank is set approx 1.5" up from the bottoms of the sides and end pieces rather than sitting flush with them. There is no framing on the tank top or bottom.

Should I give it a center support? Should I get my metal worker to build a frame for it top and bottom? I would really appreciate some advice before setting this tank up and moving my catfish into it. Thanks in advance.:)
