DIY air diffuser?

Will this harm my fish?
The idea is to make a circle w/a air pump pushing through the 1/4 porous soaker hose. Plan to add it to my sump.

Be careful, some rubbers are poison to aquaria. That includes garden hoses.

Hmmm, maybe I'll just poke some tiny holes in some air lines.
