Hi everyone,
I was doing some English homework and looked at my desk and decided a hookah would be a nice alternative to a tea. Anyway, here goes: I took a jelly jar and drilled two holes in the lid about the size of my airhose. I then rolled up three pieces of paper, wrapped them around the jar and taped them on to protect myself from getting burnt and insulate the hookah better. I then poked two lengths of airhose through, so that one end of the first piece just stuck out the top, while the other went to the bottom of the jar, and one end of the second airhose just stuck in the jar while the other was long to put in my mouth. Then I boiled water, stuck a teabag in the jar, and poured water in to about three quarters of the way so the second airhose was high and dry. I then closed the jar and until the water cooled, I had a hookah. Even after the water cools, the low pressure from your inhaling creates some vapor and the bubbles make some flavor, but its not as good.
Two issues:
1) When I first made it, it didn't work because I made the inhaling tube too long so the water cooled and no vapor came to my mouth.
2)The smoke you get is very lame. I imagine if you would use it right away (it took me a couple of minutes to shorten the hose, etc.) it might give more smoke.
