Well my internet has been down for a little bit so now I'm back with pictures of what I've been up too
To start off, I have a "DIY" it's not that great because pictures where taken from 2 cameras and I can't upload them from one of them
So here is how I built my anaconda cage. I had space under neath my monitors cage. I used the stand as the frame to screw all the Melamine on. I used 5/8 thickness.
Measure twice, cut once..... Oh well, just needs more caulk
Well my stand just so hapends to be right where an outlet is. Drilling is needed
This is for the heat pad and light cord to go through.
Result.
Hardware. All thanks to the Home Depot, well, not the saw, that was bought at Canadian Tire.
This isn't terribly difficult, tracing out the lines. However, cutting it while laying on my side with no room to manuever is not cool. Always remember to trace the inner edge and not the outer edge.
Then, cut the holes to get the saw blade in. Jig saws are very dangerous and should only be used by people who know what they are doing. Also, always use safety goggles when doing any project.
"is it done yet?" lol
Vents are in along with the tempurature probe. Also, all the seems have been siliconed.
Light has been wired and installed by yours trully. Installing the light fixture straight was the hardest part. Wiring is easy, however, make sure you know what your doing, if not, simply get someone who does to wire it up for you.
I installed a peice of plexi glass for easy viewing of the snake. I used a peice 1/4" of plexi glass. I used the wide washers so if say a lager snake leans on the glass, the pressure is spread out on a greater area.A total of 8 bolts and washers where used.
I am using a KANE 18x28" heat pad to heat the enclosure. He has branches to climb on and places to hide.
And a large water bowl for swimming. I still need to install a guard to keep in the shavings and the lock to keep the door from coming open. Also, the light fixture uses plant growing bulbs. I will be aquiring water hyacinths for his water bowl.
So that was fun, and sometime soon, I will be making a larger enclosure of my boa. Here she is.
And the always growing Macklots
Hope everyone enjoyed this thread. Please comment and I will answer any and all questions you may have
