call around for a local place to buy glass, shipping big heavy chunks of glass will cost you lots, better to find a place local even if its 100 more per piece of glass you can transfer it yourself knowing itll get to you not broken or chipped and youll save on shipping

Yes, acrylic is lighter and easier to cut. It also requires a high level of precision when making those cuts. It is also tricky to get it bonded correctly. I suggest you practice on a smaller scale and see if you want to attempt a big job.

i thought that size is almost identical to petsmart's topfin 150 gal instore tanks?..theyre like 500$ but i dont know if a tank that small in gallons would be worth the time and money into building it..id just get a regular glass tank..

I would practice on a smaller scale if you plan to build a large one. The general rule is if its smaller than 240 gallons its not worth building because they are mass proeuced and can be bought used. Also, by having two or three sides plywood, you woulds save money.

i dont agree with practicing on small scale, its just a waste of money. mfk is a good resource for building, spend a week or two reading them all and 99% of your questions will be answered.
