DIY Aquarium top

Can you give me ideas for a 36/18?
Also, I only want half of the tank covered..so I can let the tubes go in the tank.

thanks i already got ideas other than this one..
the egcrate plan seemed good but if I have a cover right on top, my turtle won't be able to extened his neck towards the heat/UVB bulbs..

i decided to make like a canopy thing around the tank.
