wanting to upgrade my tank this tank is built into a wall and you can see from both sides
living room side and dining room side
the idea is to make a background for both ends and the bottom
i want it to look like you are looking into a cave
i understand how to do this and that is not the problem
the problem is were do i put the fish why i am doing this
i do have (2) 55's and a 75 that i could use but they all have occupants
i can overcrowd the other tanks for awhile but i worry about aggression and such while doing it
i can also buy some kinda stock tank while i do this if i have to but i am trying to do this a cheap and as safe as possible

what do you all think

mike

this will basically become a bare bottom tank but with style

mike

no one knows

biggest is a 13" jag
3 o's
12"tsn
and some others

anyways sounds like a cool idea, i mean u have to put them somewhere, and shorter out of the large tank the better, it depends what is in the smaller tanks , thats a tough one

of course i will move the wet/dry off of the 180 to one of the other tanks to keep the bacteria colony going
i think i can do the whole project in 2 weeks
i can start it without moving the fish
take some measurements and start cutting the styrofoam
then move the fish and put the styrofoam base in and then cement
then cure the cement for atleast a week
then hook up the filter on the 180
throw some feeders in to see if it is safe and after a week of that put the big fish back in

what do you think

This sounds like the perfect excuse to get a big stock tub:)

:iagree:

that is a really great opportunity. Save all your bacteria. Great pond project. or just in case.

A stock tub is always good.

I have a 150 that is basically empty right now. The only thing in there is the mangrove jack and he should be leaving soon. If you wanted to stock them down here, you could. But, that would be a long drive.
