ive been reading up on styrofoam/polystyrene backgrounds and all looks good until the cement business. is all cement safe? other than using a softner to cure is there any way to avoid leeching as im trying to keep my water soft! also... are all pigments safe i cant seem to find any uk sellers that are designated as fish safe/non toxic enough for me not to worry!

many thanks

i did a Styrofoam tunnel and after putting 10pdsof concrete on it it still would not sink. My next one im gonna do a styrofoam mold and have the concrete come off. I tried a bunch of different concrete and all of it leeched stuff out, so I have reserved myself to using portland cement and letting it leech impurities in to a seperate tank then put it in my main tank after it stopps raising the Ph. A good article to read is on www.garf.org about how they make concrete decorations for tanks.
