Hi guys,

I am in process to build a stand for my 260G tank. Stand is 45" tall and footage is 88" x 30" with 4x4 posts. I want to leave the bottom 4" open for easy clean up or won't leave a mark there. sorry for quick draw. Can you give me pros and cons for open bottom?

Thank you,

Tony

If it where me I would make it all out of 2x6, it would be alot cheaper and just as strong. I could go on to explain it all in detail or post this link which will answer most of your questions.

Honestly that is exactly how I would build it with a few changes. The center upright brace on the front would 've bolted in so if I have a big sump (which I would) I could work on it or remove it if I had to and i wouldn't do the plywood wrap but that's because I'm cheap.
