im thinking of using a rubbermaid container as a breeding tank im not sure if i could see if the fish laid eggs though so i was thinking of cutting part of the front away and putting a plexiglass viewing window in it has anyone ever done this if so how well did it work and how should i attach the plexiglass?

wouldnt it be easier to look in the tank with something that has a glass bottom, i know if i hold my scuba mask to the water on the top of my tank i can see the bottom crystal clear. even a large drinking glass may work, make sure the substrate is an opposite color of the eggs your lookin for to make the job easier.
