Ok so heres the idea, I would like to build a sort of mix between a canister and a HOB filter. I used to have a really good canister filter which kept my tank crystal clear until it got broke in a move. Now I would like to make one out of 4 inch pvc for the canister about a foot tall, with 1/2 - 3/4 inch inlet and half inch spray bar return, which brings me to my first question, what sized pump should i use to get proper spray after moving through about 3 stages of filtration, planning on pulled apart scrubbies activated carbon and then ceramic rings, and would these 3 types of media work well sumerged?
