here are some pix.

Did not have any spare ceramic rings so have used York Stone Chippings (hope these are ok. I use these in the pond). i used a Soldering Iron to make holes in the bottle.

Its made a huge difference to the tank and fish. No dead spots in the tank now because of the fast flow from the outlet.
Just waiting for plants to hide it with.

Gonna make something along these lines for the Arowana tank but its gonna be a 4000LPH pump and using a large Spaghetti Container.

Yep, The Inlet on the Pond Pump was a little smaller than the bottle opening. So i wrapped a few layers of black PVC tape on it to make it a nice snug fit.

Excellent idea, same design as a Eheim classic. No water bypass. This has given me many ideas...

Ok Spent this afternoon making this.
Scoured Mums and Grans House for all the Bits I needed.

I used a 5Litre Cereal Container.

Bottom >>>>> Up
York Chippings
Ceramic Rings
Coarse Foam
Scouring Pads Rough Side
Scouring Pads Foam
Filter Floss

Each Layer is separated by Plastic Mesh.
