Diy cannister plumbing placement

Can anyone tell me which set-up is better? Left or right?

Im using submersible pump because it's only available here.

actually I don't think either set up would work. if you put the filter above the tank and pump water up to it then let gravity pull the water from the filter into the tank would be the best way.

i used that same setup last winter with a quarantine tank 60 gal . i experienced too much heat from submersible pump . so i am looking for a cheap inline transfer pump i am told stainless body pump is best . i waiting on a query if cast iron body <<< much cheaper has a negligible effect as i replace water regularly.

Much of a muchness, really. Looks like the hose length and number of right angles will be about the same either way.

as a further note i did use rigid pipe at aquarium but used flex to and from canister [jabao 10] less chance of an accidental leakage
