DIY Canopy?

Hi, my name is hector and I'm new tot his community. I have to say this but this site its incredible.

the reason of my post its to ask you guys if any one have any experience building a canopy using the flurescent lamps from home depot as illumination for the tank? also, what kind of bulb and ballast did you used on your tank? and last do ou have any patterns and list of materials you used to build the canopy?

Any help will be very appreciated. and if you can post pics of your DIY canopy would be awesome.

Hiya Hector, welcome to MFK.
Like jspatrios asked, what are the dimensions on the tank? It has been a while since I built one but I like the cabinet style stand and canopy combos or for large tanks a cantilevered canopy connected to the stand by a cabinet on one end.

the dimensions of the tank are 36x12x22, I think its around 40 gallons, and the fishes are 4 convicts, a 12" pleco and a bala shark that its loking for a new home

I used to have a 100Gal tank with 2 bala sharks, my pleco and the four convicts, but for questions of space I had to tear down the tank and move the fishes to the 40 gallon
