if i have some left over carbon that fell through my bio cartridge on my emp 400 ( i have a zip lock full) can i take a piece of cloth and sew a lil pocket... fill it up and then sew it closed and use it as a carbon bag?

if so it would fit in my emp 400 but could i place it by the water coming out of the emp? and if not where would the best place for it be?... would it be better by the intake?

Ladies stocking work well. Just fill up a leg and tie it off.

Yes, stockings work well. They also sell bags for that use in various LFS. I buy Carbon and make my own its cheaper.

As far as where do you place it. I don't think it matters as long as the water can properly pass through it.

You can make your own carbon easy enough...
