I was just wondering if a diy co2 injecter is worth making. I've read quit a bit of threads on them and was wondering what you guys think is the best one to make

Use 2 or 3 bottles and stagger their start dates by a week, that way you won't have co2 crashes.

You can have good luck with the gelatin formula too.

Used a 2 2L bottke system on a 50 gallon and it worked great. Water, sugar and yeast.

thanks guys, how hard is it to make a mistake and have some dead fish in the morning from doing this. And is it really worth doing because I found some plants on a website that do good in low light and don't need co2 injection

Difficult to do with yeast-based co2. I turn off the system at night (with a "y" valve to a vent hose) to prevent over saturation while the plants are dormant overnight, but it's probably not necessary. Like all co2 injected tanks, keeping an eye on the tank pH comes recommended.

This is the method I followed: http://www.qsl.net/w2wdx/aquaria/diyco2.html

I used the 2L bottles connected to Hagan ladders in the past, and it worked well enough in a 55g. Really easy to get set up. Just keep an eye on the PH as already mentioned. :)
