Has anyone ever built a dual 125g stand? Can the stand not have a brace in the middle so you can slide the tank in through the front, otherwise if a brace in the middle is required, then would it be easier just to slide the tank in through the side if the opening is big enough?

Or is it possible to slide through the side?

When you start getting into long un-braced spans laminated wood provides a lot of strength and stiffness. Much more than a comparably size single piece beam.

For a 72" span I would feel comfortable with three 2x4's laminated together for the front and rear rails. I would probably actually use three 2x6's and plane the laminated beams to a true 4" thickness myself.
