Is there a way to build an extra intake for the fx5 for example the single inlet comes stock then build a y in the tube to another intake on the other side of the tank to have an intake on both sides of the tank?

What you said is fine, I did that with an FX5 and 2 overflows, split the suction and the discharge sides.
