So IDK if anyone has really thought if it but for 4 years now i have used sterlite bins as cichlid breeding racks or tanks when you need to real quick remove a fish they get the job done!
HERE IS A PIC OF MY AFRICAN BREEDING BINS.

You can also EASILY run a pump through sponge filters in all of them... I am setting up a new shelf with 10 bins soon...

That's a cool idea, what are you using to filter with? That'd be a good setup for an air pump and box filters or sponges like you said.

Currently 3 seperate fully submersible filters just cuz i had them lying around... This is one of the same brand in my Jewel tank... (The jewels also gotta aquaclear...)

that looks like a good idea
do they not bow quite bad when full of water

No... pretty much ANY bin that is the equivalent to 10 or more gallons bows ALOT! But these small ones have completely no bow at all! If you want a big one to not bow just attach a brace on the inside top much like you see on any large aquarium that will make it not bow... Understand what I am saying?
