So I am going to use some shop fluorescent fixture in the hood and I had an idea to spray the inside of the hood with this silver metallic looking spray paint as a cheap reflector of sorts.
My question is, would the paint be worth it?

i had this on my 75, it seemed to work, but i don't really know if its noticeable, seeing that i got the light fixture with the silver paint already done.

Go to your local supermarket and buy a roll of aluminium foil. Then stick it in your hood.

go to the local hydroponics shop and buy some mylar. The stuff is dirt cheap and very effective. It is certainly much more reflective then silver spray paint .... but then flat white paint is far more reflective then silver spray paint.

I like mylar. Not only is it very inexpensive but water does not affect it and it can be used to line almost any shape. A bizzillion pot growers can't be wrong.

Mylar is the only way to go ! Here is my 2 X10 badly neglected planted set up. I used 2 part epoxy to glue the mylar to the fixture it is an incandescent fixture made for a 10g. that is hanging over both of the tanks. There are 2-12watt cf bulbs 1 daylight bulb and 1 soft white bulb. The red root floaters have grown a good 6" out of the water
