A little while back I built a bigger enclosure for my female blood which recently passed away. I decide to clean and sterilize the enclosure, while doing so I noticed the the solution was seeping between the boards. The caulking I used the firs time dried and cracked. I re-caulked the seams with waterproof and printable silicone. it has dried but is still smelling strong.

Am I going to be able to use the enclosure for one of my other bloods or do I need to do something else?

Chances are it will be fine. Read the silicone label for any warnings though. Also post the name & description of the silicone you used to see if anyone knows any specifics of it (there are a lot of 'silicone experts' aroudn here ;) )

Most silicones are claimed to cure in 24 hours. But if you read that part on the label carefully it is regardign a certain sized bead of silicone. If you used more than prescribed, it will take longer to cure. Also keep air flow in mind, in restricted airflow it will also take longer, possibly much longer.

Open the enclsoure and put a fan in for 24~48 hours and then see how you feel about it...

Thanks, I'll try that. Worst case I may just take it apart and cut a 1/2 inch off the ends and maybe lower the ceiling.
