So in the future I will be getting a 300 gallon native fish tank and need flow and want to build a filter myself so if anyone can share links for help or just overall help that would be greatly appreciated.

Here is one that I rigged up just recently. It isn’t 100% complete yet, I will still need to iron out a few kinks to maximize efficiency and whatnot but it has been great on my 300 pond. For example I would prefer to run the pump from the drain on the bottom but I was in a time crunch and wanted to get it going with out messing around with the plug. So it has a drain/ strainer attached to the input and it just sits inside with the heater behind it.
