Well i just watched my SOB ropefish worm his way into my filter and start to push the lid off...soooo i decided to make this lil thing to block it. Maybe it will help someone one day.
So i see the rope do this. it is 12:30 at night and im in my dorm, so what do i do so he doesnt escape!?!?
Well, You will need:
1 tupperware lid
scissors and tape

I first measured the opening on my filter and cut the grate accordingly. i then cut tiny openings so water could flow through and the rope could not. then i cut a small opening above the others just incase the water backed up it would not overflow and spill onto the floor.
i then put 2 strips of tape over the opening, placed the new DIY grating over the opening and used 2 more pieces of tape to secure it.

This is just a quick fix for the weekend until i can find something better.
