well i finaly finished my DIY pond and it holds water. but only problem is that the filter takes in more water than it puts out. i have a 1800 gph pump sitting in the pond pumping water into the can that is the sump for the filter through a 3/4" tube. the out put is through a 1" tube. what can i do to slow down my pump just a little bit? if there isnt anything i can do i will add another output so there are two 1" out puts. thanks

Yep...add a second return if the filter isn't clogging.
Any pix???? :nilly:

a ball valve on the input end.. and then you can use that to adjust the flow... or T it off and have it run to an ornament or fountain (but that still needs a ball valve to adjust everything)

And water did we learn in pump class 101?? Never starve a pump! So don't do this.

i dont think you can put a ball valve on a flexible plastic tube. can you?

YEP! Ask CHOMPERS...he's got the secret. (it's in one of his DIY threads)

no expert here, but ball valve on pump input seems like it would cavitate pump, possibly damaging it. I think ball might be better on pump output side.
