Diy filtration for 1000 gallon system

I was wondering if anyone has any good ideas for diy sumps for a 1000 gallon system. I was thinking using a couple of old 55 gallon tanks I have lying around an just make a standard diy sump with them. If anyone has any better ideas please tell me, I'm very good at working with my hands so complexity dont matter

110g sounds light for a 1000g. I guess if you provide good mech and enough biomedia and enough space to allow for water when pumps are off they could work ok.

Build you a plywood crate with pondarmor for a sump unless you can find a couple 125s for cheap.
