Just got back from the grocery. 5 lbs of beef heart, 2 lbs of tilapia 1 lbs of shrimp
Carrots, peas, spinach, fresh garlic, romain lettuce, astaxathin powder, spirulina powder. $75

Also adding a full bag of Hikari gold at 11.99.

So let's call it an even $90

I'll weigh the end result out to see if and how much I saved$$$$

Note that the 2 powders are $30 of the cost and Will last several batches.

Stay tuned I'll update in a few hours.

Powders are both for improved color and digestion.

Sofar it would be impossible to not save money doing this. I'm left with a 5g bucket almost of slurry turning half into pellets and half into gelatin. Feels like 20 lbs or so. Maybe 7 or 8 lbs dry hopefully.

How are you planning on preserving the dry pellets?

Interesting thread.

To be fair, I've taken to farming worms for food. A $20, fifty pound bag of Purina Worm Feed goes surprisingly far in attracting earthworms and growing them to nightcrawler size. It also completely mitigates any pellet training issues.
