DIY Fish Pellets

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That is amazing! only problem is you would need a seperate food processor. I can't imagine anyone would want to put fish guts in theirs and then use it to make cookies or whatever later (that is what minha mãe does)

Looks like an awesome idea! Really cost effective and I imagine much better for fish, you know exactly what's doing in it! I wonder how packing it full of fruit and veg would go. It'd be great if you had a food dehydrator.

Thinking a hand crank pasta maker could be used if you didn't have a meat grinder. If you need cheap appliances to do this, hit up your local thrift store, they always have plenty.

oh yeah im so trying this!!! thanks for the link!!!

You guys have all lost your minds if you think these will turn out even remotely equivalent to the majority of store bought pellets popular on this site as far as nutritional quality goes. There are much better frozen food recipes out there if you want to make your own food.

Cool, but way too much effort, besides the available foods on the market have been engineered for optimum health for your fish. I can see it if you own a fish farm or have 100s of tanks. :)

I've seen lots of people make thier own food just to find out its more expensive and way more work to get the nutritional equivalent of a quality pellet. If you can make something competitive then go for it but I'd approach it more as a treat for fish than a staple replacement

I think you COMPLETELY missed the point, its not about them being the best quality its about the price to manufacture your own bulk pellets, did you even read it?

Way to rain on everyones parade as usual, I'm pretty sure the fish would be healthier eating FISH remains than the high ash and other un-needed ingridient content a lot of the store bought pellets have.
yeah some of them are "scientifically tested" and all this crap but at the end of the day youre making a high quality pellet OF YOUR CHOICE that you know the ingridients for sure. Keep buying your store bought pellets if you love them so much but anyone who thinks this is a bad Idea is either a snob or just trolling
