There are some beef heart formulas and recipes on this site somewhere. I forget which forum now. Just check around...

hard to list a formula ever fish i own has it own twisted recipe i uasally follow the ingredints on the package first on the list being the largest amount decreasing as you go down i use organics for wheat meal and vegs vitamines i use only natuarl based get them from the health store multi vitamines have derevitives of chlorine ,meat i mix in using freeze dryed ground up with a bowl and pisto or pesto you know those things for grinding lol looking at a freeze dryer soon but any hoo whatever you use mix it up add some preventive meds if you like and maka little meata balls and bake under a light on a cookie sheet oh oh i add 3 6 9 oil supplement instead of water to create the sticky glue it together stuff lol seriously though try it trial and error just dont put in anything toxic to the fish or high in fats only lots of variety i like garlic extract dried spinage ect sorry havent tryed flakes i make a crumble mix for the small guys and powder for babies good luck hope theres some more posts on this topic i'm still learning FNH........

I make my own food every once in awhile its quite easy. I blend it in a food processor until its like a shake then I freeze it into a 10" square about 1/4" thick. Then when I need it I cut small chunks out of it. I use shrimp, carrots, peas, beef heart, chicken breast, smelt and other foods that are low in fat I also add in liquid vitamins and gelatin powder to hold it together a bit better. If I add in a pound of meat then I try to add at least half pound of vegetable matter but it depends on what fish the food is for.

thanks i try to make my own stuff from the info given

That euroshrimp mix works well. I have made it already for my cichlids and they love it. My recipe is a little different:
1 lb beefheart
1 lb shrimp
cichlid vital (liquid vitamin)
2 teas spirulina powder
8 oz new life spectrum
50 oz of gelatin

The recipe calls for 100 grams of gelatin, but I found out it stays together just as well with 50 grams. Food processor works great. The only thing is to put them in portions that will last only a week because the food spoils quickly and store the rest in the freezer.
