Gonna try this out tomorrow, little background info it will be for my Jag 2.5inch, two snook 3inch, tiretrack eel 8inch, two eclipse catfish 2.5inch and belly crawler pike 3 inch.
I plan on using peas, spinach, carrots, shrimp better with or without shells?? some fish fillet smelt? v8, Krill pellets, worms and crickets.

Is there anthing you would add or remove from that mix? will definitely keep everyone updated as to whether they like it or not, mostly worried about the snook eating it as they seem to be the pickiest:nilly:. Hoping this will help everyones colors and health the jag is from petsmart but looking good. :woot:hopefully this turns out well

i would maybe use some gelitin or somthing from keeping it from clouding the water i used to feed my rbp's a mixture similar to that but it clouded the water when it was fine ground and if it was to corse they just picked out the bits they liked

forgot to add that but yes planning on it and all my fish mouths are bigger than RBP's plus theres a group of killer attack tetras that eat damn near anything

not trying to derail but how much gelatin to use say per ounce of food mix. I just made some myself with no gel and it absolutley gets everywhere.

Ok so heres my ingredients:
2 bags of small salad shrimp no shells
1 bag of scallops
couple handfuls of spinach
couple hand fulls of carrots
catfish nuggets didnt have a big variety of fish at walmart
2 tilapia fillets
5 cloves of garlic
2 small cans of v8
20 crickets
1 tub of earthwoms/nightcrawlers

just added ingredients one at a time to food processor except veggies did them all at once, then scraped it out into a pot. then mixed it all together really well and cooked on stove for 10 min or so on medium. then added gelatin till i liked the thickness. then stirred again. I then scooped out the yummyness into freezer bags and smooshed the mix till flat and got out all the air. tip scoop it into the bags bout 1/5th way full that will flatten out to a good thickness. I put the bags on a cookie sheet and currently have it freezing will give more updates when i feed.

Yummy lookin no?

i prolly used far more gelatin than i should have i just kinda added it till i liked the thickness but mine was 8 packets

Use shrimp with shells next time. Scallops not necessary- better to spend that money on other ingredients. Catfish nuggets are fatty- you may want to substitute more tilapia fillet for that. I would cook the veggies before grinding it up. Seafood should be kept raw, so cook and grind veggies then mix with the raw ground up seafood. Just heat the gelatin so you can stir the ingredients in. Raw seafood is better, but props to you for taking the initiative.

fish are just like us they get more nutritional value out of raw foods i would just grind it up and cure it
what sort of gelitin did you use somthing like certo?

yes v8 heard of quite a few people using it sounds odd i know. was told not to use shells thats why i did not will try with next batch. used catfish because didnt find a whole lot else. we had the tilapia. dont remember on the gelatin cant find the box was just unflavored gelatin. the jag seems to like it along with the tetras and mollies, the pike ate some not a huge amount same with the snook. the snook seem to prefer top water food any tips?
