so i have had alot of guys pm asking me abut how to build how i made mine and how well they work.... well i ended up getting a fx5 from a guy basically for free, and only 3 fasntener had the llittle orange tabs on them but they were cracked so as soon as i opened the lid to clean it sure as **** they split/broke in half... and thought im nt spending 8.99 each on a brand new fastener forgot that lol .....so i pondered for a day or so and thought hey i bet i can make these.... so i went and got some stainless steel brake line and found the EXACT size as the range tabs.... i ended cutting small sections 1/2" long same length as the orange peices, stuck em in a vice and started drilling holes just big enough for the head of the bolt that is used to slide into pipe without being able to move i made enought o replace them all on one lid and it took me AT LEAST 2 hours from start to finish damn near after testing and fitting and double checking so i got it right defintly is VERY time consuming, i even tested the pump in the garage for like 4 hrs before even bringing it in the hosue to make sure it didnt leak during it purge time and running application... but not a single drop of water ! i have been running both fx5 like this since last summer without no issue's at all... i did think about making this with some solid cold rolled steel bars and selling a bunch on line but didnt know if i would be legally able to if Hagen found or saw em online as a fasntener replacement for there patended product and etc...and if you needed to replace the ball part on the top that is also do-able cuz really it just a bolt that is the main fastener just get a wing nut with a locking washer
and well this is what i came up with here,
