DIY Glass Tank question...

Okay, I've done my research but I need your opinions to prove someone wrong...

What are the proper procedures for assembling a glass tank?

I'm being told that aquarium manufacturers have machines that press all the glass together at 6000lbs of pressure... and if i dont apply the same amount of pressure my DIY tank will not work.

According to GARF, tape is sufficient.

Do i really need to press the pcs together that tightly?

True if they did then we could have a whale enclosure with a 1 inch glass

Just so you guys know... my tank dimensions are 84x48x40.

umm i build tanks(just started so im not to familiar) but from what i uderstand tae is sufficint all u want is to have glu inbetween the glass pcs and on the inside of tank. u could also add some on exterior. use alluminium frames on corners for added strengh5

yeah but who would want aluminum frame on the corners of there tank. It would really take away from the looks
