hi. I decided to build a gullwing style canopy top for my 150 g feeder tank.
to do so I bought some 3/8 72" x 24" acrylic some non corrosive hinges bolts and a tube of silicone. the lights came from ebay. assembly tme took less then 30 mins with cutting drilling and adhering below is finished might add some shocks to it tho it is very light. total cost of build with lights $137.47

What kind of lights are those?

sorry thought link had the description 8( .
cant wait to get it home see if works . if so thinking of doing much larger scale for marine tank.

Very cool. Be sure to post pics when you get them on the tank.

sorry ****ty pic id say the lighting is about 30% brighter then conventional 45 wat x 3 tubes i had, i hookd the leds up to a timer with voltage cut so they fade in an out of day/ corney way of trying to simulate the sun lol

just a quick update about 2 weeks in and plants look great fish brighter had to fudge with the timers/dim a little bit to create the fade in an out I wanted but all in all im happy with the led's guess i will see in another month. but for now im convinced light spectrum is enough to grow plants.
I do plan on adding 3 outer boxes of blue for moonlighting down the road.

The experience I've had with acrylic as a hood is that it bows with prolonged water exposure.

Those are nice lights.
