im trying to make a diy protien skimmer for my saltwater tank that hangs on. im making it out of 4inch pvc, soda bottels a powerhead and some hose. well thats what i have for materials. can some one come up with something to help me out and yah i have the wooden boubble block. for hose i have 3/4 hose. i herd the outflow has to b bigger than the inflow hose. sorry for my spelling and grammer im on a iphone
well my plan was to take a piece of 4inch pvc cut it to about 2 feet. take a soda bottle cut it in half and use the bottom half for the bottom like a cap. silicone it then put a little hole in the bottom of the soda bottel end for the air hose and stone. then use the second half of the bottle and cap the top. putting it together like a giant soda bottle again with a pvc center. then take another bottle cut the top off and attach it to the top of the previuse cut bottle cap to cap. then put a small piece of 2inch pvc in the second soda bottle top. its a confusing plan but it seams like it will work. then drill a hole put in a fitting attatch a hose to the powerhead wich is still in the tank. were should i put the intake and drain? one has to go on top of the other. then the out drain i have no clue like i said drill the hole for it to be on top or bottom and should it b over the water level in the tank? its a hang on. let me know i need help. im kinda going trial test with it now tho. must of leaked 10gallons on my floor
