Hi all,

I have several lights but they don't think my 4ft tank. I'm looking to suspend one over my tank to give some low light but bright enough to illuminate the tank.

Can i see your DIY Hanging fixture.

Thanks.

This is what I did for my 2ft:

For a 4ft I would use two spotlights or some tubes

Not sure if I have any pictures of it but I built a stand to hang a shop light over my 72 bow front out of conduit

I used closet shelf brackets & rod that I got from my local Menards. Had to hang 4 lights over a 10 foot span, so needed more brackets and rods then you are going to need. Should cost you less than $20....

Mounted the shelf brackets on the back wall (at ceiling level for mine). Used screws into the studs and toggle bolts into the drywall at 2 foot intervals. Place the rod in the rod holders and hung the lights by their included wires. The closet rod can be cut to length with a pipe cutter.

Have since dressed the cords with zip ties and stick on zip tie holders.

Im looking for lights for my tank Im about to put into service. My tank is 127 x 30 x 32. Are you satisfied with these lights? what if anything would you do differently?

I am very happy with the lights. Mind you, that I was not looking for "bells & whistles" in my lights and am on a budget with this tank (even though it is a monster, dream tank (you'd be surprised what I paid for it)).

I plan on only having various types of large anibias in it, along with maybe some java moss, so growing power was not a concern. Secondly, I don't care about "sunrise/sunset/storm/cloudy/fancy colors/etc modes. Fish you buy from the store, either have lights on or lights off... all that other crap is for people. Simply either will be on or off. Going to use a wall switch timer to turn them on at 2 pm and off at 9 pm.

My biggest concern was that they would be able to punch down light 36" to the bottom of the tank, and they do that. Also they were $85 each, so I didn't bust the bank for features I don't want or need. They are on Amazon.
