Im looking for anyone who DIY-ed they're own fish hide-out. By this I eman you used your hands to create one like using clay or something else not just dumping a PVC pipe or flower pot... Anyone?

Well, since you're 15 you probably have an art class of some sort handy. Hop into a clay molding class, find the gals that likes fish, set the bait, and get 'er hooked. Then hang on tight. Seriously, why not make a project out of it at school. Free materials and credit!
I'd imagine once its kiln-fired/baked you'd be fine to use it. People use clay pots all the time.
I'd say if you apply any sort of clear coat do a search on the chemicals and make sure they aren't water soluble.
All I've done so far as far as making hideouts/caves is lean 3 flat-ish rocks together to make a rather large cave.
