Anyone seen plans for a screen top or other hood for a reptile cage? I have a leopard gecko who is about 6 years old and i think he deserves a bigger home(he is in a 10 gal and hes a big guy!) so i want to move him into my 26 gal. aquarium. The problem is it is not a standard size aquarium. I think i have an idea of what i am going to do, but i would love to see what other people have done! If i get this done and it turns out somewhat decent ill post pictures.

Just build a wooden frame, stretch some metal screen across, staple it and BOOM you got yourself a top. I've built them before a while back and they worked fine for me.

lol thats exactly what i was going to do. i just wanted to see other peoples

i made my top with wood and 1/4" Plexiglas with tow 1 1/2" holes for lights and smaller holes for ventilation. i mounted two toggle switches on the side to turn of the lights one for night and on for day

haha fancy illastration there tyler...im kidding...sort of.

If you're extra good, you can even make a sliding screen top. This involves sealing a wood-angle frame to the top of the aquarium using silicone.
