I thought about doing my top offs like normal and just dosing in a one gallon jug like this but do not know how often I should do so. Dripping from a 5 gallon bucket is restricting as I do not have room in my stand to sit the bucket high enough to get a drip but could do so with smaller container. I think I lose about a gallon of water a day to evaporation, sometimes more and sometimes less.
Another thought I had was to set up the 5 gallon bucket underneath the stand and put in a Rio 50 powerhead and set it up on a check valve/ball valve to drip 24/7 and that would nullify the need for a siphon at all but may be hard on the pump.
Thoughts?
Would dosing still be needed if this setup were completed?
