DIY LED lighting system help please!

So I am torn on how to go about building a lighting system for my tank. I currently have T8 fixtures under the canopy of my tank and after seeing the shimmer effect given off from LED/MH lights I want to go about adding this to my tank.

I have done some basic legwork and returned a slew of different products already that were pre-made. Namely various pre fabricated LED fixtures from walmart, lowes, home depot etc...

none of them seem to have the power to penetrate to the bottom of the tank and give that real shimmer effect. I have plenty of water movement on the surface (I have an FX5 and two Eheim pro three's with upgraded spray bars) so I know that can't be it. I just need more powerful LED's.

I have found these though, do you think they would work?

I am thinking about getting 4 sets. (8 x 100 cm each) and laying them out with some overlap in the middle. Also 2 would be blue to offer a moon lit effect for night for my guys. Mind you think is PURELY cosmetic, I have no plants, and its a mixed pred tank, so this is just for my sake really. So I don't need them to grow coral or plants, but just to look good

This is what I've used, about 20-30$ @ lhs and you need maybe 2 depending on watts, then a simple dome or desk lamp. Very bright

Might be a bit higher than e-bay but you get real specs and info on the products. I was going to do DIY LED's on my 210g but with the cost of the Beamworks stuff out there... Im just going to buy them.
 
Is there a reason you dont just buy a led fixture? Im assuming you are doing this to save money? I had 2 beamswork 48" single bright strips on my 220 and it shimmers like crazy. Thsy were only like 140ish shipped
 
U need led FLOODLIGHT! that's says ambient lite so wattage is low and color K isn't blue or white. Take it back. Mine 16 watts
