Ok guys', You can now change you water in miniutes and don't have to worry about watching it or running it dry. I think the pictures are self explanatory. all tubing and fittings are 1" The only thing that isn't in the pictures is 1" stick of pipe. all bought at Home depot ran around 40.00.

Good idea! Your home depot must be more expensive than mine lol.

Nice! thanks for sharing. ive been thinking of doing this since the python takes forever on my 210g. use the python for cleaning the botton and this thing and ill be done in no time! :)

Also I have a 125gal. (not a monster) drained in a few minutes and gave me time to hook up water line to refill. It drained so fast I will probly only use it on water change days. Not on Vacuum days.

You could save a couple of bucks by eliminating the second fittings below the ball valve. Just get your 90's that go in the ball valve with one threaded end and slip fit on the other end.

Good job though. How does the suction start? The old fashioned way (mouth on tube)?

question, do you start the siphon by sucking at the other end? is it easy to start the siphon even with all that hose attached to it?

It was the clear hose, 1.60 a ft. Next time I would find a really nice 1" garden hose. That way I could use it around the house. I do like the clear hose that way you can see if your about to get a mouthfull of fish water.:grinno:

also for cost savings, they sell ball valves that are slip, not threaded. threaded valves and fittings usually cost more...

Your right, now it's your guy's turn to perfect it. :) Yes three blows and one suck and watch out. Here it comes.
