While MFK was down over the weekend I did some researching because I had not found anyone who had done there own lights using fixtures from Home Depot or other hardware store. Here is a link of the website I found. I did contact him and he said his fixtures were still working great and that they now carry different fixtures then what he used but that they should work as good or better. Let me know what you think and If you have had any luck on your own! I plan to purchase some T5 fixtures from my local HD and will post when I get them!

Thanks for the idea .... just what I needed for my new tank... Wonder if I can ceiling mount these.

Thats actually what they are designed for!! It would be better hanging or on ceiling instead of concealed in a hood long term I would think because less moisture. I think they sale a quad T5 fixture near me for $50 bucks but I'll post when I get! Did you check out his tank? Sweet!
