DIY Lighting Unit

Hi all,

I have recently been donated a 5ft Rena aquarium and matching stand. However there is no longer a lighting unit with it. I was planning on doing a refurbishment and maybe passing it on or placing it in my partners classroom for her class to watch (she is a teacher not a student ). Are there any ideas or experience any of you can pass onto me for this project?

If your needing light just go to your walmart, lowes, home depot and buy a 4 ft florescent fixture.

Ya get a shoplight or something.... I have a 6 ft and I got a 4 ft shoplight... Cut glass to the wid th of the light n used plywood for the rest of the lid.... Just have to make sure the lights not sitting on the glass... I used like a 2" wide by 2ft splint type thing.... Make sure its hardwood or it will rott

buy the all season one for 20 bucks. it doesnt rust, and the hood completely covers the lights. it also has a pull cord to turn on.
