Diy minnow trap

Anyone make their own minnow traps? I'm thinking of making one out of a 5 gallon water cooler jug

Do you guys use em? What do you bait them with and what do you use your minnows for

I made my own from a 2 litre bottle, I use it and a nicer one I bought at my local tackle shop. They both work, I mainly catch sunfish in the one I made though because it has a larger opening than usual traps do. I bait then with white bread. I use the minnows for bait for white bass and perch and some of them I keep for my tanks.

what dive said, a two liter bottle works, and works well. Cut the top off and invert it into the bottle. I melt the two pieces together with a hot nail. Bait with white bread. Nothin' easier man.
